Leeds United link with a move to sign £20m Tottenham star man

Leeds United have had issues with strengthening their right side of defence in recent transfer windows, but it’s the right and not the left where the Whites are ready to make a significant move according to reports.

Leeds have been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Djed Spence, who appears to find himself surplus to requirements at Tottenham since the arrival of new manager Ange Postecoglou. Suggestions are that rather than try to loan the player, Leeds will look to make a purchase of a player that cost Spurs £20m just over a year ago.

Spence was sent on loan to the Ligue 1 last season after failing to impress since leaving Middlesbrough and he is being sought by a number of Championship sides, having proven himself as a dangerous player in the second tier in helping Nottingham Forest win promotion.

Leeds have already dealt with Spurs over the Joe Rondon loan deal.

Drama for Leeds over Drameh

Leeds United have been told they will be making a transfer mistake if they agree to sell Codey Drameh to West Ham United. The Hammers have been linked with Drameh for a number of weeks now and are reportedly still interested in getting a deal done for the highly-rated 21-year-old before the transfer window closes a week today.

News of a potential sale does not sit well with ex-Whites player Carlton Palmer, who thinks the club will be making a big mistake if they agree to sell.

He told Football League World: “Cody spent last season on loan at Luton where he excelled, and helped them get to the Premier League. With a year left on his contract, and it seems no offer for an extension at this point, it would make sense for Leeds to sell him, rather than him going for nothing.

“I find it strange that Leeds would want to get rid of a young, talented right-sided player, who has proven his quality, and he can play to a higher level than the Championship. I think this is a mistake.”

Tymon on the list, again

Leeds United were linked with Josh Tymon a number of years ago when the Stoke City player was breaking through at his hometown club of Hull City. Now, all these years later, the defender is back on Leeds’ radar according to TeamTalk, who suggest the left-back is being eyed by the Whites.

Tymon was tipped for big things when he joined Stoke on a five-year deal back in 2017, but it hasn’t worked out how many had hoped. A series of loan deal followed before he got himself back in the stoke team and won a new three-year deal, becoming a regular again last season. However, Stoke would be willing to let him go and now Leeds are being linked again.
