Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has told Newcastle United’s new signing Lewis Hall on Instagram ‘good luck, brother’ after he secured a transfer from Chelsea.
The 18-year-old has made a loan move to Eddie Howe’s side, but the Chelsea academy product will sign a permanent deal next summer.
Lewis Hall might have donned Chelsea colours for most of his life, but he was a Newcastle United fan growing up and he does have family who support the Magpies also.
Nonetheless, when the youngster’s move was confirmed, he took to social media to thank those at Chelsea and the ‘amazing years’ he has spent at Stamford Bridge.
Hall might be playing for a rival now, but he made it clear that. ‘Chelsea will always have a special place in my heart’.
In the comments section of Hall’s Instagram post, he was sent a number of messages by teammates.
Manchester United’s Mason Mount simply wrote: ‘Good luck, brother’, whilst Carney Chukwuemeka added ‘Proud of you. Go shine’.
Hall under Eddie Howe
At the age of 18 and playing for an ever-progressing team now in the Champions League, this is a very good move for Hall and his career.
Eddie Howe has proven that he can help progress the game of many players, with the likes of Joelinton, Miguel Almiron and Joe Willock, to name a few, prime examples of that.
And now Hall will be hoping to add his name to that because he has the quality, not just to play at left-back, but also in midfield.
