Brentford striker Ivan Toney has revealed that he was once meant to sign for Wolves, until the club called the move off at the eleventh hour.
The 27-year-old has appeared on the Diary of a CEO YouTube channel with Steve Bartlett.
Toney is currently away from football, having been charged for numerous breaches of FA betting rules in May.
The player will not take to the field for Brentford until January 2024.
Toney has decided to appear on the Diary of a CEO YouTube channel to talk about his life and career, and he has also shed light on the moment he received his ban.
But he also made a rather interest remark about his career path.
In an alternate universe, Toney may have been turning out for Wolves…

Toney was asked by Bartlett about the early stages of his career.
And Toney mentioned that before he signed for Newcastle United, he was actually lined up to join Wolves.
He says he had even said his goodbyes to his Northampton Town teammates, and had even been handed a squad number by Wolves.
He said: “Before I was going to Newcastle, I was supposed to be going to Wolves. But I got to Wolves, met everybody, went in the changing rooms, got my number on, took the pictures. They come to the contract side, and then I think there was a bit of talk with my agent and the club on certain things and then it related back to us
“It just confused me and my family. Didn’t know what was going on. And then, out of nowhere the club came out and said ‘we’re not looking to sign you any more due to having Scoliosis in your back’. We were so confused.”
“I’d said my goodbyes at Northampton and I’m supposed to be going signing for Wolves. Next day I’m back in Northampton training with the boys.”
Scoliosis is a condition that sees the spine curve.
Wolves could seriously do with Ivan Toney now
This is a fascinating revelation from Toney about the early days of his career.
Given the problems Wolves have now scoring goals, it’s easy to analyse this and be regretful about the rejection of Toney, who had a £50 million valuation earlier this year.
But there is, of course, no telling if Toney would have turned out the same player he is today.
Toney went on to say that he felt the Scoliosis hasn’t really had too much of an impact on his career.
Clearly, Wolves just didn’t want to take the risk at the time.
