Gary O’Neil made it clear Pedro Neto is furious with Wolves ace giving statement

Wolves were unlucky in defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion at Molineux on Saturday.

Gary O’Neil’s side created the chances to score a draw, however as so often is the case with Wolves, they failed to convert.

Four big chances missed is a ridiculously bad conversion rate which makes the 4-1 defeat slightly better, as on another day they could have taken points off Brighton.

The real worrying area was the defence, which was almost invisible for a ten minute period in the second-half.

Old Gold weren’t helped toward the end of the game as Matheus Nunes got himself sent off stupidly.

O’Neil on Nunes’ sending off

Nunes got incredibly frustrated at the heavy defeat, shoving a few Brighton players which warranted his second yellow card.

It was a stupid decision considering he was already on a yellow card which was also given for an avoidable reason.

Stupid mistake to make given the game was already over and that red card will make his teammates suffer from his absence against Everton.

Post match, O’Neil was coy on his view of the situation, he told reporters: “I’ve spoke with Matheus Nunes, he knows my thoughts.”

Nunes’ red will have a lasting impact

Nunes’ red now means he is going to miss out on what should be a winnable game for Wolves.

Everton are a side who are at that level Wolves are in the league, so a win here is needed.

But the task will be made difficult by the absence of their star midfielder.

If it ends up costing them, O’Neil will be fuming with his biggest talent.
