Report Newcastle have been linked with a surprise move for £13m Argentinean winger this summer

Tim Krul, a former Newcastle United goalkeeper, is apparently ready to join Premier League newcomers Luton Town.

According to Football Insider, the Dutch goalkeeper is close to finalizing a deal to become the Hatters’ eighth summer signing following their promotion to the Premier League. The 35-year-old is in the final year of his contract with Norwich City and has been supplanted as the club’s first choice by Scotland international Angus Gunn.

Krul would offer a wealth of Premier League experience, having made 222 appearances in his career, 157 of which came during his 12-year tenure at St James Park. Krul was a vital member of the Magpies’ surprising fifth-place finish in the 2011/12 season, and he also played for the club in the UEFA Cup and Europa League, as well as representing the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup Finals.

Should Krul complete his move to Luton Town, he will compete with another summer signing, Thomas Kaminski, who made his debut for the club in Saturday’s 4-1 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Newcastle are not due to meet the Hatters until they travel to Kenilworth Road on Saturday, December 23.

Newcastle have been linked with a surprise move for Argentinean winger Benjamin Rollheiser.

The 22-year-old departed River Plate last summer to join league rivals Estudiantes, where he has scored 13 goals and contributed five assists in 64 games across all competitions.TNT journalist Nicolas Latini claims the Magpies have a ‘offer ready’ to sign Rollheiser before the end of the summer transfer season and are willing to pay roughly £8.6 million to do so.

However, Estudiantes’ president, former Manchester United and Chelsea player Juan Sebastian Veron, has stated that if his club receives an offer of roughly £13 million, there will be ‘no problem’ in completing the transfer.Aston Villa are also said to be interested in Rollheiser.
