Leeds United are still interested in Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips during the summer transfer window, according to a fresh report.

This is the type of transfer that feels ideal for the centre-back this summer, allowing him to shine for a Championship club vying for promotion to the Premier League. In actuality, playing for a lower-ranked top-flight side feels like his level, and he may thrive at Elland Road if the Whites sign him.
While not the most visually appealing defender on the field, Phillips makes the most of his abilities and focuses on his strengths, proving to be a powerful force in the air in his two league appearances for Liverpool last season, winning an average of 4.5 aerial duels per game.
Jurgen Klopp has also praised him in the past, waxing poetic about his performances in 2020/21, saying:
“The level of concentration [Phillips and Williams] demonstrated [on Thursday] night was immense, absolutely insane what they did there.” It’s not going to be easy against United’s front four.”
While Phillips isn’t good enough for Liverpool going forward, there’s no shame in that, and he has the opportunity to carve out a wonderful career for himself, with his peak years still ahead of him.
The drop from the Premier League to the Championship is significant, and if he does come to Leeds, it would not be surprising to see him emerge as one of the division’s top performers in his position.
