Over the last 24 hours, a new name has been connected with a move to St James’ Park, with rumours in South America revealing our interest in Watford star Yaser Asprilla.

They claim that the offensive midfielder is willing to ‘force a move’ away from Vicarage Road if a ‘solid offer’ comes through, with Brighton, Newcastle, Real Sociedad, and Porto all said to be interested in the highly-rated teenager.

Asprill has one goal in three senior matches for Colombia and made 39 appearances for Watford last season. He is NOT related to former Mag Tino Asprilla.

With Dan Ashworth assisting Brighton’s recruitment campaign in South America while at the Amex and Newcastle on the lookout for some of the world’s greatest developing talent, a transfer for the midfielder could make sense.
