Newcastle is in hot battle with Milan to sign €20m potential replacement from

According to a source, AC Milan is looking into prospective replacements for Rade Krunic, and one of the names on their list presently plays for Monaco.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan had moved their focus to attack and defense following the arrival of American Yunus Musah from Valencia, but Krunic’s likely exit could change that.

The Bosnian has already agreed in principle on personal terms with Fenerbahçe, and he is critical to Stefano Pioli’s objectives. As a result, a replacement of comparable dependability would be required.

Nicolas Dominguez of Bologna and Youssouf Fofana of Monaco are two key targets, with the latter having been on Geoffrey Moncada’s radar since his time in Strasbourg.

Fofana’s future is up in the air. He joined Monaco in January 2020 and has a contract that expires in 2024 (with a 2025 option that Monaco can exercise), but he might depart before the end of the summer if they do not participate in Europe.

Monaco paid €15 million for him and now believes he is worth more than €20 million. West Ham was interested in him but elected to bet on Ajax’s Edson Alvarez instead. Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in him.
