According to Football Insider, Bayern Munich executives will fly into the UK on Friday morning for negotiations with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy about the transfer of Harry Kane.
Spurs have returned to London following the conclusion of their pre-season tour and are set to meet with Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe.
They did not accompany Bayern on their pre-season tour of Asia in order to finalize a deal for Kane with Levy, who is increasingly eager to cash in on the club talisman rather than lose him for nothing next year.
The face-to-face conversations demonstrate this, with Bayern eager to boost their previous proposals in order to reach an agreement.
They could also agree to Tottenham’s desire for a buy-back clause to be inserted into any potential agreement, and that could help satisfy a section of the London club’s supporters.
The German giants are also confident they could sign Kane, who celebrates his 30th birthday on Friday, in January when he can sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club prior to a transfer in the summer of 2024.
Tottenham have offered the striker a new contract which would not only improve his current £200,000-per-week wages but also make him one of the Premier League’s top earners – but are yet to seal an agreement.
It is believed Kane wants an astonishing £600,000-a-week to complete a move from the club where he has spent his entire career.
Tottenham are said to be holding out for a sum of £100 million for Kane, despite the fact that Bayern’s two formal approaches have been far lower.
Man United is the England captain’s favorite destination, according to Football Insider, but the striker recognizes that negotiations will be difficult because Spurs are unwilling to sell to a Premier League competitor.
Following the rejection of two bids, Bayern Munich is prepared to submit a third bid costing closer to £100 million, according to Football Insider.
The England captain has been practicing with Tottenham ahead of the season and played 45 minutes in a friendly against West Ham last week (18 July).
