West Ham considering a move to sign Manchester United electrifying midfielder this summer

West Ham United are allegedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer.

That’s according to The Telegraph, which claims that David Moyes admires the Scotland international.

West Ham currently have the job of replacing their former captain Declan Rice, who joined Arsenal earlier this month.

The Hammers have been linked with a number of targets, including Denis Zakaria, Conor Gallagher, Joao Palhinha, and James Ward-Prowse.

McTominay is another name being explored by the West Ham board, according to Sky Sports earlier this month.

And it seems the East Londoners are now weighing up a move for the 26-year-old as they bid to fill the void left by Rice.

West Ham may make a play for McTominay.

According to the Telegraph, West Ham are mulling a move for McTominay, but United have set a £45 million price tag on his head.

Erik ten Hag is apparently happy to keep McTominay beyond the summer and only a big offer would tempt him into selling.

It’s noted that Moyes is an admirer of his compatriot and believes he would fit in well at West Ham. But for a move to come to fruition, the Hammers will have to cough up between £40 million to £45 million.

McTominay has fallen down the pecking order at United after the arrival of Casemiro last summer.

Ten Hag has favored the Brazilian since his arrival, with McTominay confined to the occasional start and cameo outings.

Former manager Jose Mourinho described the midfielder as a’special’ talent who would be a wonderful addition to West Ham’s side.

Of course, West Ham will be hard pressed to find a player of Rice’s caliber. McTominay, on the other hand, has performed admirably for United over the years and may be looking for a fresh challenge in pursuit of regular first-team action.
