Fabrizio Romano claims Elland Road at the verge of completing a terrific signing this summer

Karl Darlow appears to be on the verge of joining Leeds United.

This summer, the Whites have been trying to add to their goalkeeping ranks.

After Joel Robles left the club at the end of his contract, Illan Meslier is Leeds’ only senior shot stopper.

And, with Meslier’s future at Elland Road uncertain, Leeds must act quickly to bring in reinforcements.

According to various sources, including Fabrizio Romano, the Whites appear to have found their guy.

Leeds were apparently competing with Bournemouth for Darlow’s signature.

However, the Cherries appear to have moved on, allowing Leeds to sign the Newcastle player.

Here’s what Romano had to say regarding Darlow’s future amid links with Elland Road on Twitter:

Leeds are closing in on a deal for Darlow, a ‘terrific’ goalkeeper who could use a change of scenery.

He appears to be surplus to needs at Newcastle and spent last season on loan at Hull.

According to Leeds Live, the Tigers were priced out of a move for Darlow, and Middlesbrough were also interested.

Now, it appears that Daniel Farke’s charges will apprehend the 32-year-old in the next days.

Darlow, according to Keith Downie, “will travel back to the UK for a medical soon.”

Let us wait and watch what occurs in the next days. Hopefully, an official announcement from Leeds will come soon.
