Tottenham now face a serious battle with Arsenal in the race to sign Aston Villa electrifying midfielder

Arsenal have re-entered the race for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, despite reports that Tottenham Hotspur are interested.

Tottenham Hotspur may now have to compete with Arsenal for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are considering a new approach to sign Luiz.

The Daily Mail claimed on Thursday that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Luiz.

According to the source, Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hjbjerg is set to leave the club for Atletico Madrid this summer.

Spurs are seeking for midfield targets, and one of them might be Luiz, with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher also being considered.

Tottenham would probably face a real battle to even convince Villa to sell their prized midfielder.

Their pursuit has now been made even trickier though with London rivals Arsenal now getting involved once again.

Arsenal may make a fourth offer for Douglas Luiz.

If Arsenal confirms their interest in Luiz, it will be their fourth bid for the Brazilian.

Arsenal made a strong drive to sign Luiz before the summer transfer deadline in 2022, with Edu clearly interested in his countryman.

Arsenal reportedly made three last-minute proposals for Luiz, worth £20 million, £23 million, and £25 million, but Villa declined.

Villa not only kept Luiz, but also signed him to a new deal, bolstering their position even further.

Edu and Mikel Arteta appear to like Luiz, who might fill the defensive midfield role if Thomas Partey leaves.

We don’t see Luiz switching Villa for Tottenham this summer, and a move to Arsenal appears doubtful considering the fee Villa is expected to seek.

Luiz would very certainly cost more than twice Arsenal’s final bid from last summer, and we believe he would be better served playing a crucial role under Unai Emery at Villa Park.
