Newcastle United are apparently moving forward with their pursuit of Monaco’s Axel Disasi, having signed terms with the 25-year-old.
The latest update on Axel Disasi and Newcastle is that the Frenchman has been offered a contract after it was reported last week that agreements had been reached.
Newcastle have made a contractual offer to Disasi but have yet to reach an agreement with Monaco, according to Foot Mercato.

Newcastle must be sure that they have the necessary cash to complete the transaction if they’ve already signed agreements with Disasi himself.
According to Foot Mercato, Monaco would demand more than €40 million (£34 million) for the player they signed for £11 million in 2020.
A quick look at his FBref data from previous season reveals that Newcastle may lure Disasi away from Monaco even at £34 million.
Manchester United is still interested in signing the 25-year-old defender.
Although there are some minor red flags when it comes to tackling and clearances, especially given his position as a center-back, he ranks towards the top of the charts in every other category.
After being regarded as ‘powerful’ while playing for Stade Reims in 2020, he went on to live up to his potential in Ligue 1 with Monaco, and it now appears that he will be given the chance to establish himself in the Premier League.
Manchester United is still interested in Disasi, but it’s believed that they won’t make a deal until they shift on a handful of players, giving Newcastle the edge to move quickly.
