Tottenham Hotspur are apparently in talks with Juventus about signing a key player

Spurs and new manager Ange Postecoglou have been active in the transfer market in the run-up to the 2023/24 Premier League season.

Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski have made their loan signings from Sporting CP and Juventus permanent in agreements worth €40 million and €30 million, respectively. Meanwhile, Spurs have signed James Maddison on a free transfer from Leicester City, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli, and left-winger Manor Solomon on a free transfer, bringing the club’s total current summer investment to €136 million.

However, there may be more to come, with speculation circulating about a new center-back.Personal terms have apparently been agreed with VfL Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven, but Tottenham and the German club appear to be £5 million apart on a fee.

Along with a centre-back, another full-back, possibly Cambiaso, could be in the cards for the north London club.

In the previous 48 hours, Sport Witness relayed an update from Sky Sports Italy on Spurs and Cambiaso. According to the source, Tottenham has been in contact with Juventus about a deal for Cambiaso, although AC Milan is also interested in the midfielder.

Juventus is thought to have placed a €25 million (£21.5 million) price tag on Cambiaso’s shoulders and are hesitant to sell this summer.

Andrea Cambiaso, who are you?

Cambiaso is 23 years old and appears to be at the height of his game, with a Transfermarkt valuation of €8 million. The Italy U21 international rose via Genoa’s youth system before joining Juventus last summer.

Cambiaso, who is sponsored by Adidas, has yet to make a senior appearance for Juventus, having spent last season on loan with Serie A club Bologna.

The defender is predominantly a left-back, but he has appeared in at least 20 games as a left-back, right-back, right midfielder, left midfielder, and central midfielder, demonstrating the versatility he could provide to Postecoglou’s team.

Cambiaso does not have a weak foot and is described as two-footed by Transfermarkt. He was a regular in Serie A last season, appearing 32 times for Bologna.

However, any transfer could be difficult for Spurs to execute, since the player’s agent has stated that he is 99.9% certain he will remain at Juventus this summer.

“It’s flattering to be associated with a team as important as Fiorentina.” According to what we’ve been told, he’ll return to Juventus and stay there 99.9% of the time. Other teams, including as Bologna, are also interested. But Juventus has told us that they have no plans to let him depart.

“He wants to play, and I believe he can find it at Juventus after demonstrating his full potential last season.”

However, a move to north London appears to be on the cards in the coming weeks, with Spurs making the first move by enquiring about Cambiaso’s status.
