Sevilla list out two players that are to leave the club and Tottenham appears to be interested

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still interested in Yassine Bounou, who is expected to depart Sevilla during the summer transfer season.

According to AS, the Morocco international will cost merely £17.1 million after losing his status as the Europa League champions’ number one.

Yassine Bounou, popularly known as Bono, was one of the World Cup’s biggest surprises last year. He was instrumental in Morocco reaching the semi-finals in Qatar. As a result, they became the first African country to reach the last four.

Tottenham are interested in Yassine Bounou.

However, the second half of the season with Sevilla proved to be a difficult experience. After the end of March, he only made one more league appearance. And it appears that the 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid will be his final La Liga outing for the club.

According to AS, Bounou will depart Andalusia this summer. Sevilla must raise finances throughout this window. As a result, the 32-year-old has been given the go-ahead to move on for a cost of £17.1 million.

Inter are interested in Bounou as a replacement for André Onana, according to AS. However, the article adds that Tottenham is also keeping an eye on his condition.

The links with Spurs are a surprise given that they have already signed Guglielmo Vicario this summer. And actually, Hugo Lloris right now remains on the club’s books.

Meanwhile, Fraser Forster performed admirably as an understudy last season. So, if Lloris leaves, Ange Postecoglou may be fine with Forster as Vicario’s backup.

However, having Bounou battle Vicario has the potential to be a fantastic business move. The Moroccan goalie has been described as ‘amazing’. And the fee is not prohibitively expensive for a club like Tottenham.

Obviously, Bounou might not want to leave Sevilla for another title fight. So a relocation is highly unlikely at this point.

In an ideal world, Tottenham would undoubtedly profit from having two excellent goalkeepers competing for the starting job.
