Smith Agrees the option with Brad Stevens on Kristaps Porzingis in a Trade

Stephen A. Smith believes the front office of the Boston Celtics is in good hands.

Last week, Boston execs were hard at work putting together a franchise-altering move. It apparently took two efforts, but the Celtics acquired Kristaps Porzingis, who is coming off a spectacular season in Washington. To acquire something, you have to give up something, and Brad Stevens and company chose to part ways with longstanding fan favorite Marcus Smart in order to land the 7-foot-3 center.

Unlike several other notable media figures, Stephen A. Smith supported the Celtics’ blockbuster transaction. The seismic deal caused the ESPN anchor to lavish admiration on Stevens.

“Brad Stevens was a fantastic coach.” “I think he’s an even better executive,” Smith remarked on Sports Illustrated’s “First Take.” “I’m incredibly impressed with some of Brad Stevens’ moves.” This man understands exactly what he’s doing. And I believe that if you have the opportunity to put Porzingis with that group, you should do so. On paper, I believe the Boston Celtics have emerged as the team to beat in the NBA.”

Stevens and his squad may have only just begun their offseason with the Porzingis trade. Following the announcement of the agreement, a subsequent report suggested that the Celtics are “far from done” making moves.
