Fulham appears to sign Leeds United electrifying midfielder on loan this summer

Fulham have reportedly made a season-long loan bid for Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson.

According to the Daily Mail, Fulham are eager to give the United States international a chance to stay in the Premier League following the Whites’ relegation to the Championship. Aaronson has failed to live up to his early promise after joining Elland Road from Austrian club RB Salzburg for a fee of £25 million last summer.

In the first month of the season, the 22-year-old scored his first goal for the club in a spectacular 3-0 home win against Chelsea, and he assisted in a 1-1 home draw against Everton just over a week later. However, he would only contribute three more goals in all competitions throughout the season as he failed to help the Whites retain their Premier League position.

Rasmus Kristensen, Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, Rodrigo, and Tyler Adams have all been linked with moves away from Elland Road since relegation was secured with a home defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on the last day of the season.

Now, though, Aaronson is alleged to be the subject of a ‘approach’ from Fulham, who are said to have yet to meet the terms of a clause in the attacking midfielder’s contract that allows him to leave on loan if Leeds are relegated.

Rio Ferdinand claims that if he were still playing in the current game, he would be worth more than five times the £30 million he received when he left Leeds United to join Manchester United in July 2002.

Former England defender joined the Whites in November 2000 for £18 million and went on to make 73 appearances for David O’Leary’s team as they won the Champions League, UEFA Cup, and Premier League. After just under two years with the Whites, he made a controversial move to Old Trafford.

Ferdinand examined the current transfer market on his FIVE YouTube Channel and calculated that if he were sold in the current transfer market, his current worth would rank alongside the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

“I was £30m back in the day,” Ferdinand revealed on his FIVE YouTube channel.

“Think about today, man. In today’s market, £100 million would be considered inexpensive and serious. £170 million, £400,000 per week, that is what I would be now, that is what I would be now.”
