Everton in serious negotiation with Feyenoord in transfer for Elland Road’s massive midfielder

Everton and Feyenoord have joined the hunt to recruit Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville, who is valued at approximately £12 million.

After being relegated from the Premier League last season, the Whites are aware that departures are required this summer in order to prepare for the financial impact that comes with a return to the Championship.

As a result, sales are required, but few expected Summerville to be in high demand, given that the Dutch U21 international was not a regular in Leeds’ starting XI.

However, the 21-year-old, who can play in a variety of attacking positions, is generating interest, with the Telegraph reporting that Everton are competing with Feyenoord for Summerville.

According to the update, a ‘bid worth up to £12 million’ may be required to persuade the Yorkshire club to sell.

However, a transfer will not take place until after the U21 European Championships, which begin on Wednesday, with Summerville part of the Dutch group seeking to win the silverware this summer.

Leeds are under no obligation to sell Summerville this summer because he has a contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2026.

The optimism that the future will be built around the bright younger players at the club, of which Summerville is one, was arguably the only positive for Leeds fans following their relegation. Because he wasn’t a regular starter, this may have been his big break to become a prominent character at Leeds.

However, the thought of returning to the Premier League with Everton or joining a Feyenoord side that will compete in the Champions League would appeal to the wide player, making it tough to keep him. You could argue that the £12 million is a bargain given his ability and potential, so Leeds should hold out for me.

Finally, with Summerville away with his national team, nothing is imminent here, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out after the competition. Of course, the new head coach will have a huge role in recruitment, which is the first thing the new Leeds owners need to fix out, given it’s been a long time.
