Tottenham are repeatedly looking at options to the £40m superstar at Spur way

Tottenham Hotspur are considering other goalkeeper options after declining to meet Brentford’s asking price for David Raya, according to Dean Jones of GIVEMESPORT.

According to the source, the Bees want £40 million for their No.1, but their London rivals are only willing to pay up to £30 million.

Last week, GIVEMESPORT was advised by the dependable Fabrizio Romano that Tottenham were confident in signing Raya this summer.

However, it appears like Spurs have reached a deadlock, with neither the club nor Brentford prepared to lower their valuation of the player.

Raya’s contract expires in a year, while the west London club announced the acquisition of new goalkeeper Mark Flekken at the end of May.

Nonetheless, it looks that Brentford will not sell the Spaniard unless their asking price is met.

Jones believes the £10m valuation disparity between Tottenham and Brentford for Raya, who could yet push for a move, is a huge issue.

Hugo Lloris, Tottenham’s current No.1, has recently acknowledged that he wants to leave Hotspur Way this transfer window.

“I have other aspirations.” “I will quietly ask myself what is possible,” the Frenchman told Nice-Matin (via The Guardian) at the start of June.

Finally, with Lloris on the verge of leaving Tottenham, Postecoglou and Daniel Levy will need to bring in a new shot-stopper, and Raya was one of the finest in the Premier League last season.

According to FBref, the 27-year-old kept 12 clean sheets and has the greatest save percentage in the top division (77.7%).

It’s easy to see why Tottenham would want him, but Raya appears to be one who got away for the north London club.
