Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive, with academy chief Gary Brazil reportedly one of three important exits from the City Ground.

Gary Brazil is said to be quitting his position as Nottingham Forest’s academy director after more than a decade with the club.

The 60-year-old is rumored to be one of three important exits from the City Ground as part of a backstage reshuffle.According to the Athletic, Forest has “taken the unexpected step of not renewing Brazil’s contract.”

The report adds that add that Lee Charnley has been told his services “will no longer be required at boardroom level”, having been brought in on a consultancy basis to provide extra experience as the Reds prepared for life back in the Premier League, with under-21 boss Warren Joyce “also expected to leave”.

Craig Mulholland, who formerly worked with new chief football officer Ross Wilson at Rangers, is likely to join the club as an advisor. According to The Athletic, Mulholland will not be a direct replacement for Brazil, with his role being “more broad-ranging.”

Brazil, a former player for Sheffield United, Preston North End, Newcastle United, and Fulham, joined Forest in 2012, originally as a youth team coach, following a stint on the coaching staff at Notts County. He served as the Reds’ caretaker manager three times, overseeing the growth of local talent such as Brennan Johnson, Joe Worrall, and Ryan Yates.
