Bid as Newcastle United make’s €80m on Real Madrid best midfielder

Newcastle United has already made significant progress since changing ownership, and will compete in the Champions League next season. As a result, the Magpies are likely to sign players capable of competing at that level. And it looks that they have set their sights on a Real Madrid midfielder.

Real Madrid has rarely made headline-grabbing moves in recent years. They did, however, make one last summer to bring in Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco.

It goes without saying that expectations were high, and many saw the Frenchman as a mainstay in the middle of the park for the next decade. With Casemiro’s departure, a starting berth became available.

Tchouameni made a bright start to life in the Royal White jersey as well and many people were viewing his signing as a masterstroke on the part of the club. As the season progressed, his form faded away though, especially after the World Cup. It is worth pointing out that he missed a penalty in the final against Argentina. And now, there are some doubts over his long-term future at Real Madrid.

Newcastle United have offered Real Madrid £68.5 million (€80 million) to sign Tchouameni, according to Defensa Central (via Caught Offside).

There have been different reports regarding Real Madrid’s position on Tchouameni. Some have stated that they are willing to back the Frenchman and give him time to regain form as long as he stays a part of their long-term plans. Others have stated that if the proper offer came in, the club might be willing to let him go.

As a result, it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman will be a Real Madrid player next season. Of course, the addition of Jude Bellingham has increased competition in the park’s center.
