Tottenham Hotspur are keen to recruit Roma defender Roger Ibanez.

According to Giallorossi.net, the Brazilian defender is worth €40 million, but Tottenham has’made it known’ that they are willing to pay roughly €20 million for him.

The 24-year-old has established himself as an important player for Roma, and his versatility would make him an excellent addition to the Tottenham squad.

A number of European clubs are reported to be interested in the Brazilian, and Tottenham are also ‘admirers’ of the versatile defender. Ibanez can play fullback, center defender, and defensive midfielder. He could be useful to Ange Postecoglou’s team next season.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can persuade Roma to let him leave in the coming weeks for €20 million. Roma appears to be willing to accept a cost of approximately €30-32 million.

Tottenham need to bring in a strong partner for Cristian Romero, and the Brazilian would be an excellent addition. The 24-year-old is still in his early twenties and will most likely develop with coaching and experience. He has the potential to become a significant player for the London club in the coming seasons.

Tottenham must strengthen their defense if they want to re-enter the Champions League and contend for championships. They have been fairly weak defensively this season, and as a result, they have lost out on a top-four finish.
