Tottenham now leading the race to sign £65m 22-year-old defender who the world at his feet

Following the appointment of Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur may now go forward in the transfer market.

The Spurs’ defense might use some help after another poor season.

Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, and Clement Lenglet all struggled last season.

Due to injuries and a lack of discipline, even Cristian Romero suffered at times.

Tottenham are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace midfielder Marc Guehi, according to different reports.

Tottenham are interested in Guehi’s placement and game reading, according to The Athletic.

They believe the Lilywhites’ interest in the Palace is ‘longstanding’ and has grown in the previous two years.

Arsenal is also said to be interested in Guehi, but according to Dean Jones, Tottenham has the upper hand.

“Of course, Harry Maguire’s interest will make headlines,” he said, according to GiveMeSport.

“Because of who he is and where his reputation is right now, but he is by no means the only option out there.”

“Marc Guehi is another Premier League player that we should expect them to thoroughly investigate.”

“Arsenal also admires him, but Spurs may have the upper hand in terms of being able to provide regular first-team football.”

Arsenal is also said to be interested in Guehi, but according to Dean Jones, Tottenham has the upper hand.

“Which will be crucial in the season leading up to the European Championship, as he will be aiming to be part of that England squad.”

Guehi is an extremely talented player who would be an outstanding addition to any major club.

Furthermore, the 22-year-old would definitely be accepted far better by Spurs supporters than Maguire.

“Marc is second to none,” Palace defender Joel Ward told South London Press earlier this season.

“He’s only scratched the surface of things here.”

“If he keeps moving in the same direction, he’ll have the entire world at his feet.”

Palace are thought to want around £65 million, while Tottenham’s proposed offer is £20 million less.

This is an intriguing lead, and let’s hope Spurs can go on and sign Guehi before the summer window closes.
